NEROTICA

Produced by LoCo Motion Pictures (Canada)

  • Genre: Comedy
  • Format: 8 x 30 ‘
  • Logline: Two inexperienced teenagers write elaborate erotic fanfiction to endure their religious high school, but once one of their stories go public, they gain a following that threatens the community’s morality.
  • Synopsis: Best friends Mimi and Ellie are social rejects in the eleventh grade at a conservative Jewish school in suburbia. They are obsessed with writing erotic fanfiction for their favourite online community Ficster, and spend their time editing and writing original stories together. But when one of their stories accidentally goes public (and viral!), they see an opportunity to embrace their shame and start an erotic fanfiction club, complete with weekly live readings and a strong R rating on all content. Boldly questioning the boundaries of religion, teenage sexuality and female friendship, Nerotica is an important coming of age story.
