20-year-old Rania Ali traveled to Austria from war-torn Kobane in Syria. Her harrowing journey was filmed in real-time by herself, with help from Norwegian filmmaker Anders Hammer. The intimate participatory documentary, premiered by The Guardian, went viral and received numerous awards. In a joint interview with Ali and Hammer, hear the poignant testimony of a courageous female refugee who found safety just as Europe closed its borders … and in the process, created a story that resonated with the world.
