About

Airin’s current portfolios with Media Prima includes managing the digital OTT video streaming service tonton and overseeing the group’s Animation IP, Licensing and Merchandising business. Since 2016, Airin revamped tonton from an AVOD play to a hybrid SVOD service and has taken the homegrown brand to international shores within the span of 18 months. 

 

Previously Airin was the Group General Manager of ntv7 and 8TV, Malaysia’s leading two urban channels, with over 18 years of Free-To-Air TV media experience. She played key roles in the pioneering teams for both ntv7 and 8TV since 1998 and 2004 respectively. Between 2006 to 2008, Airin was concurrently a consultant with Primedia International with the task of rebranding ABC5 to TV5 in The Philippines. 

 

She continues to love conceptualising content, watching all sorts of shows, reading through scripts, looking for the next big and securing deals for Malaysia's top animation title Ejen Ali! She has been with the Media Prima group since 1998 from the start of her career. 

 

Airin earned a BA degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London and an MBA from Berne University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. 

 

In between her career and family, Airin is an avid baker and a World Marathon Major finisher.
