About

Sarah Legg-Barratt joined the BBC in 2004 after managing the A&R department of influential record label Good Looking Records. She has worked extensively for BBC Children’s during her time at the broadcaster in a wide range of roles. Following a brief stint in BBC Factual, she decided she much preferred the wonderful world of children’s television and returned to CBeebies Acquisitions and Animation department in 2011. She has worked as a Programme Executive on many of the channel’s popular animations including Peter Rabbit, Messy Goes to OKIDO, Pablo, School of Roars, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion and Postman Pat.

About the company:

To complement our commissioned programming the Children’s Acquisitions team acquires and pre-buys material for CBeebies (preschool) and CBBC (6-12+) from production companies in the UK and internationally. For CBeebies, we pre-buy all our titles so we can be editorially involved from the early stages; CBeebies only acquires animation titles. We are always looking for new ways to educate, inform, entertain and inspire our youngest audiences with shows that have something special and nourishing at their core – shows that take first steps towards big ideas. For CBBC, we pre-buy and acquire ‘off the shelf’ live-action and animation titles. We are currently looking for a boys-orientated fantasy action-adventure and a girl’s comedy ensemble piece to join our upcoming line-up.
