The MIPDoc International Pitch is open to all creators and producers from across the globe seeking to develop factual and documentary projects with coproduction partners. Competitors will be narrowed down to five finalists who will have an unprecedented opportunity to pitch live their most compelling new projects to a Jury of international decision-makers.

ALZHEIMER'S: TRACKING THE ASSASSIN

Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS are three related diseases. After decades of research, the drug companies have not found a treatment. But when you look at a map – it’s obvious – there are clusters. The first cluster was noticed sixty years ago. Since then another seventeen clusters have been recorded, and scientists have been searching for the toxin that might be triggering these diseases. It seems that the likely culprit is a neurotoxin produced by blue-green algae. This 90-minute documentary will reveal an extraordinary story of discovery, and a further 10 shortform interactive videos will offer practical advice and avoidance tactics.
