Presented by TV3 Channel.

This autumn Russian channel is about to achieve a global presence by releasing its TV series “Gogol” in cinemas - in four feature-length episodes at interval of six weeks. Later same material will be premiered on TV as 8 1-hour episodes. This revolutionary approach for the monetization of a TV series was proposed by Russian television channel TV3. The project is the most expensive in the channel’s entire 20-year history and one of the most extensive budgets of Russian TV industry. Same approach will be used later this year Marvel with “Inhumans” but for 1 promo episode only. The first movie is entitled “Gogol. Origins”. It is a mystery adventure thriller featuring Russian literary great Nikolay Gogol meeting ghastly monsters from Ukrainian fairy tales and his own stories.

Alexander Tsekalo, the film's producer, became the first Russian to sell his TV series to Netflix. Valeriy Fedorovich and Evgeniy Nikishov have produced the highest-rated shows for TNT, Russian most-watched entertainment TV channel – including “Chernobyl”  and “The Island” were presented at the  Fresh TV section of Mipcom.

The film stars renown Oleg Menshikov (Dmitri in oscar-nominated 'Burnt by the Sun' by Nikita Mikhalkov) and outstanding rising actor Alexander Petrov.
