Ben Pyne is a highly respected veteran of The Walt Disney Company where he recently concluded a 25-year career at the company, marked by a number of groundbreaking achievements as well as tremendous growth across all media segments.  Under his guidance, Disney Channel transitioned from a small pay cable channel to the successful global service it is today, growing from 6.5 million US-only homes in 1992 to 500 million subscribers and 107 channels around the world.

He was also responsible for the launch of numerous other networks such as Disney XD, Soapnet, and Disney Junior as well as managed the major negotiations with all multi-channel providers such as Comcast and DirecTV.  He pioneered a number of digital initiatives including launching the first SVOD service in 2002, known then as Disney Channel on Demand. 

Named President, Global Distribution, Disney Media Networks in 2007, Pyne worked with teams around the world to distribute movies, TV series, and other content from the Disney portfolio to 240 territories.  In addition, he saw the launch of a broad range of new distribution activities and branded services across broadcast, pay, digital and subscription video-on-demand platforms including ABC Studios on Demand, Disney Movies on Demand and Hot from the US. 

He was integrally involved in all aspects of Disney/ABC's investment and management of Hulu and also served on Hulu's Board of Directors.  Pyne has a BA from Princeton and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
